Distilling your own essential oils is exciting and rewarding. Sharing homemade oils with family, friends, and acquaintances give you a great deal of pleasure and happiness. You can produce more than 2 ml of essential oils per 20 min and use them for aroma purposes or making handmade soaps, lotions, or for a side business.
Basic essential oil distiller set includes the basic things to start the distillation process and get first results in a few minutes. Everything you need to start distillation and making your own oils at home or in your own workshop, including a step by step guide to help you distill your own oils.
If you are looking for a productive and durable distiller, then you found what you were looking for. The main feature of our essential oil steam distillers is that we develop them with an expanded column/basket for plants. It means that despite having a small volume of distillation boiler you will get a decent amount of essential oils (more than 2 ml per 20 min).
We take great pride in offering essential oil distillers. Our Distillers are carefully handcrafted using exclusively premium, heavy gauge copper. We use only lead-free soldering. Our essential oil distillers are not only beautiful to display in your home, workshop but are completely functional.
Distillation is about distilling! Would you like to buy a distillery? Would you like information on distilling schnapps or on the production of essential oils? Then Distillatio is the right place for you. We distill with passion - and we know our distilleries. We would be happy to advise you personally when buying a distillery! We are there for you, if you have questions, even years after your purchase! By the way: Cooking in copper kettles and copper pots is also part of our great passion. Our coppersmiths are masters in forging traditional copper kettles, pots and distilleries. We are also happy to forge individually according to your wishes.
We get invited to herb and lavender farms and distill essential oils in front of audiences. You can distill your backyard! Do you own a Lavender farm? Check our YouTube. I did 30 ounces with my essential oil distiller on video, filmed by a customer. Check my favorite videos section.
This lavender oils photo was made by the small 2-inch Alchemist with essential oil basket, each one run. You do not have to buy the 4-inch pot still one, but it is the best. Essential oils can be made with any one of my stills.
This is pure undiluted, uncut oil from your backyard. The gallons of A-Grade hydrosol you will have left over: you can put in spray bottles, sell, give away. All with their own medicinal properties. You can even do catnip. It is Alchemy; this is real alchemy you will be doing. I have given live classes distilling essential oils and even been on TV.
When the water steams and starts to boil, you know this because the tower column is hot to the touch, turn on your water faucet , just enough so there is a trickle coming out of the outlet hose. This will cool your condenser which cools vapors back to liquid. It should start heating up essential oil still and start distilling. Make sure you have incoming water in the blue hose to cool down the condenser. Bring the water to a boil at 212F, it will start to steam, then turn on the water. The steam will vaporize the oil within the copper column. The oil then goes thru a cooling condenser and will turn back into a liquid. Be sure to put a bowl to collect the liquid. Then freeze and pour off oil or use an oil separator.
The aromatic liquid by-product drops from the Condenser and collects inside a receptacle underneath it, which is called a Separator. Because water and oil do not mix, the essential oil floats on top of the water. From here, it is siphoned off. (Some essential oils are heavier than water, such as clove essential oil, so they are found at the bottom of the Separator.)
This method employs food grade solvents like hexane and ethanol to isolate essential oils from plant material. It is best suited for plant materials that yield low amounts of essential oil, that are largely resinous, or that are delicate aromatics unable to withstand the pressure and distress of steam distillation. This method also produces a finer fragrance than any type of distillation method.
CO2 extracts are usually thicker than their essential oil counterparts and often give off more of the aroma of the natural herb, spice, or plant than a distilled essential oil. CO2 extracts have been said to contain more plant constituents than the amount extracted from the same plant using steam distillation.
Because of the liquid properties of the gas, the CO2 functions as a solvent on the natural plant matter, pulling the oils and other substances such as pigment and resin from the plant matter. The essential oil content then dissolves into the liquid CO2.
Delicate flowers such as roses and orange blossoms would clump together when introduced to steam in the distillation process, so the most effective method of extraction in this situation is to submerge fragile plant material in pure boiling water instead. The water protects the extracted oil from overheating. The condensed liquids cool down and separate from each other. The remaining water, which can sometimes be fragrant, is referred to by several names including hydrolate, hydrosol, herbal water, essential water, floral water, or herbal distillate.
Extraction refers to how the essential oil is removed from the plant material and made available for use. There are several methods of extraction. Each has benefits and depends on the type of plant material and the types of compounds you want in your final oil. Distillers may use one or more methods of extraction for different plants.
The vast majority of essential oils are created this way! For this method, steam from a boiler in piped into a vessel containing the plant matter. The volatile compounds (essential oil) are released and move through a condensing tube into a collection vessel. This vessel contains water, which is the hydrosol. The essential oil floats on the surface of this liquid. Later, the water/hydrosol/floral water is decanted off leaving the essential oil for bottling.
The water that is siphoned off prior to bottling essential oils. After distillation, the essential oil is floating on the surface and there is water below. THAT water is the hydrosol. These are perfect for everyday use, having many of the benefits of essential oils, but in a much gentler form. Good for cuts, scrapes, and for use with children.
Steam Distillation is a method separating essential oils found in aromatic plants. The process involves bubbling steam through the plant material. Because steam is easy to control, it is ideal for heat sensitive essential oils. The essential oils contained in plants are immiscible in water and have a higher boilling point, allowing the essential oil to vaporise at a lower temperature.
Every plant is different in terms of its abundance, availability, time and treatment involved in processing, length of distillation, and yield of essential oil. The prices of the oils reflect these variations, and are the retail prices (shipping included). Please inquire for wholesale prices, and know that some of these plants do not produce enough oil for wholesale quantities. At the end of each essential oil description, we have included a suggested method of application. It is only one suggestion, and by no means covers the possible uses of each oil. It is recommended that you work with an Aromatherapist for your safety and for effective dosages.
Jenn Cohen, from Verde Valley TV, invited us to appear on "The Verde Valley Experience", a program that showcases local artists, entrepreneurs, musicians etc. It was a lot of fun and inspired us to clean up the distillery!
They cultivate trustworthy and respectful relationships to positively impact the communities they work with, prioritizing equitable exchange. The distiller thoughtfully caps production capacity to avoid price surges in the local spice market
This distiller also brings us our fresh Ginger Essential Oil,. The rhizomes or "hands" of ginger are picked fresh and then washed in the stream that flows near where it grows. They distill the ginger in this fresh state, rather than drying it like most others do before distillation. This produces oil with the distinct aroma of fresh ginger root.

The distillate collected will be mainly hydrosol (water based plant extract) but there will be essential oil with it. The oil will separate out over time and will float on the surface (for nearly all oils, there are a few which are denser than water and will end up on the bottom).
This essential oil Distill equipment uses technology and chemical separation, can extract plant components efficiently by steam distillation , having good effect in collecting essential oil from plants.
