Noida, October 1The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) appears to have started a fresh investigation into the Aarushi-Hem Raj murder case on Tuesday when a 10-member team of the investigative agency visited a guesthouse in Sector-38 (A) at 12 noon. The CBI team carried on the interrogation till 6 p.m.The CBI team did not allow anybody, including the Noida police, to get a wind of its visit. The investigating agency reportedly interrogated Dr Rajesh Talwar and his wife Dr Nupur Talwar for four hours. They were interrogated separately.Later, the team questioned Dr Praful Durrani and his wife Dr Anita followed by quizzing some Nepali domestic helps including the relatives of Hem Raj, Krishna and Raj Kumar. The Durranis too were quizzed separately.Krishna was a compounder with Dr Talwar. While Raj Kumar worked as a help in the house of the Durranis.According to sources, the team that visited Noida on Tuesday was entirely different from the CBI team that had conducted the investigations earlier. This team did not even contact the Noida police. According to sources, this time it is completely a new CBI team that is investigating the case. The Noida police officials were not seen at all in the guesthouse. It may be recalled that initially the Noida police had investigated the double murder which was later assigned to the CBI by the UP state government. But in spite of the forensic and other tests, the CBI could not crack the mystery.

New Delhi, October 1Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit yesterday said that the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) would accelerate laying of water and sewer lines in unauthorised colonies before the commencement of Commonwealth Games 2010.She was speaking at a function after laying stone of 146 lakh litre capacity underground reservoirs (UGRs) and booster pumping station (BPS) at Chhattarpur. Area MP Sajjan Kumar, MLA Balram Tanwar and senior DJB officers were present.Dikshit assured that the government would ensure equitable drinking water distribution and adequate availability of water before 2010 in the city. The Chief Minister said that the DJB would construct 53 UGRs before the commencement of Commonwealth Games in 2010. This would lead to a substantial improvement in the position of water supply in coming years. She also exhorted people to avoid wastage of water. Describing this as an important project, she said that once completed Chattarpur and Mangolpuri assembly segments would not face scarcity of drinking water. The UGRs at an estimated cost of Rs 7,221 lakh would become functional by December 2009. The installation of these would cater to the water demand of four lakh people living in 18 villages and adjoining colonies in Chattarpur. The UGRs will get their share of supply from Sonia Vihar Water Treatment Plant. A distance of about 40-km will be covered to bring water from Sonia Vihar to Chattarpur. Residents of Maidan Garhi, Rajpur Khurd, Satbari, Sahurpur, Chandan Hola, Fatehpur Beri, Asola, Dera, Bhatti, Andheria mor, Sultanpur, Gadaipur, Jonapur, Mandi, Manglapuri, Gitorni, Aya Nagar and their adjoining areas would benefit with the UGRs and BPSs. 350c69d7ab
