With the new update of the Adobe video apps I think its worth a reminder to be careful when updating so you can keep your old(er) version if you need to get back to it. With the recent redesign of the Adobe Creative Cloud app, I think this warrants its own post instead of being tacked onto my article on the Adobe Premiere Pro 2020 update.

There are a few small, but welcome tweaks for Essential Graphics Panel (EGP) fans, such as support for multi-line text edit fields in the EGP (translation: easier to work with longer text boxes), the addition of underlined text, and numerous new keyboard shortcuts to select, reorder, and edit layers without ever having to touch the mouse. The EGP will also support drop down menus generated by new MOGRTs made in After Effects 2020.

Productions is designed for collaborators working on shared local storage. Team Projects is built for remote collaboration: assets can be stored locally with individual users; project files are securely stored in Creative Cloud. The two toolsets are distinct and currently cannot be combined. Productions is part of Premiere Pro and is included with all licenses. Team Projects is part of Team and Enterprise licenses for Premiere Pro and After Effects. In order to support users working from home due to COVID-19, Adobe is making Team Projects available to all users from April 14 through August 17, 2020. See this post for more information.

Editor's note: This post compares features between Acrobat Pro 2020 and Acrobat Pro DC. Adobe ended support for Adobe Acrobat XI Pro in 2017. The comparison article for that product now redirects here.

In June 2020, Adobe released Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020, the latest version of its software for viewing, managing, and editing PDF documents. It includes some significant improvements over the 2017 version, such as accessibility feature updates, a new "home view," and additional digital signature and optical character recognition capabilities.

This latest release, as with earlier recent versions, is available in two forms: Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. Below is a comparison of these two and a guide for helping you pick the right one for your nonprofit organization. (Note: Adobe also offers a "Standard" edition of Acrobat Pro with fewer features than its "Pro" counterpart, which is not covered in this blog post.)

When you request Acrobat Pro 2020, you get a license that allows you to install and use the application until it expires. Please refer to the Acrobat Pro 2020 product page (for Windows or for Mac) for that date. Adobe Acrobat Pro DC requires a monthly or annual subscription fee to use the software, but it includes all software updates as long as the subscription is current. Acrobat Pro DC is also included in Creative Cloud subscriptions.

For many nonprofit organizations and libraries that don't have a need for additional features listed above, Acrobat Pro 2020 may be a more cost-effective option for producing and modifying PDF files. Meanwhile, larger organizations or those that have more use for automatic updates and e-signature management may find Acrobat Pro DC subscription is the better fit.

With the release of Adobe Premiere Pro 14.4 in September 2020 Adobe released a feature called Scene Edit Detection. Originating within Davinci Resolve (a competitor of which we will also soon cover), scene edit detection takes a final video file and analyzes for cuts using machine learning. After analyzing the video Premiere will add in cuts or markers to allow for you to re-edit pieces of the video.

The May, 2020, update to Adobe Premiere Pro 2020 brought several new features to the software, the biggest being support for all versions of ProRes on Windows as well as hardware acceleration for H.264 and HEVC, also on Windows.

Remember that at the time of writing this article, animating in Premiere is in 2D space only. This means that if you want to have a title animate towards the audience, you will have to use the transform property Scale. There is no 3D in Premiere without 3rd Party plugins. If you are planning to legitimately animate in 3D, my recommendation is to learn After Effects for the ultimate experience. Thank you for reading Part 1 of this article! For more a more hands on experience and learning more about text in Premiere, check out How to Create & Edit Text in Adobe Premiere 2020 Part 2 (coming soon).

*If you're using an OLDER version of Adobe Premiere Pro, you DO NOT need to convert your iPhone footage to Rec.2020 Color Space. Simply apply the Conversion LUT by following STEP 1 and skip STEP 2. Happy editing!

Please help. I been using premiere pro 2020 for three years and this is the first issue I ever got. I have green lines showing up on my video clips on both sides and surely weren't filmed that way in the first place. They show up in premiere but when I export them, they come out completely fine and run smoothly. Please let me know if you have any tips or answer to get rid of this green lines.

I think I may fundamentally not understand what action and title safe margins are. In premiere, you can change what they are. For the sake of the example (and my work), I changed them both to 15% of a 19201080 frame. The left/right bars came in at 144 px & 1776px. But 15% of 1920 is 288. So why are the left/right bars not coming in at 288px and 1632px??

The latest Premiere Pro 2020 is hard to read H.265/HEVC 10-bit Videos shot in Dlog-M according to a growing mass of user reports. This is actually a known issue cause by long-GOP codec. The common ways to fix it out is upgrading your PC/graphics card and transcoding the long-Gop source video to lossless ProRes or CineForm. Keep reading to find detailed solutions.

Note: The latest Adobe Premiere Pro was upgraded to version 14.1 in April 2020. After upgrading the Adobe Premiere Pro on your PC, if you are still stuck by codec issues, consider upgrading your hardware then. If you want perfect adaptation and performance, your PC build should be upgraded to the recommended specifications.

This will allow us to manually set the type of codec we want to use for the premieres. We choose a high quality codec (for example ProRes) at the same resolution as the sequence. The settings can be saved as a personal preset and reused for other sequences in the future.

Many users are puzzeled by one thing that some files with MOV file extension can't be imported into Adobe Premiere Pro (Premiere Pro CC 2020/2019/2018 included). Although Adobe claims that Premiere Pro CS5 and above (Premiere CS6, CC) offer native support for MOV format, you may still meet the error messages like, "File format not supported", "Unsupported format or damaged file", "The file has no audio or video streams", "Codec missing or unavailable" and "32-bit QuickTime support ending". Or, Premiere Pro only import audio from MOV files for you.

With it, you can easily convert any Premiere incompatible media including but not limited to MOV, MKV, VOB to a format (e.g. MOV H.264, MP4, Apple ProRes) that that works natively within the latest Premiere Pro CC 2020 or lower version. The H.264 files can preserve image quality with the smallest file size. ProRes preserves the best image quality and provides better performance when editing in Adobe Premiere Pro, but creates much larger files that use more storage space than H.264 files use.

After the conversion is complete, get the resulted files via clicking the Open button and then you can import the result files to Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2020 OR lower version without any trouble. 041b061a72
